brings a wealth of experience and education as a worship and music consultant for churches and church musicians. He was Director of Music at the 6,000 member St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis and conducted a 130-voice adult choir. Dr. Goehring supervised ten staff members who direct the music ministry of over 20 choirs, a full orchestra, music outreach and an internship program. The church has ten worship services with an average weekly attendance of 3,100.

Dr. Goehring is a member of the American Guild of Organists (AGO), Indianapolis Chapter and is on the Executive Board. He is also a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts, and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians (PAM).
Choral conferences and workshops have included such fine conductors as Anton Armstrong, Frauke Haasemann, Donald Neuen, Westin Noble, Robert Page, Alice Parker, Paul Salamunovich, Andre Thomas and Sir David Willcocks. Dr. Goehring has taught sessions in church music at the Indiana University School of Music and Indiana Wesleyan University. He has conducted several adult and high school handbell choirs with concert tours to Oregon, Florida, Colorado, and Mexico. Dr. Goehring has studied organ with Ann Labounsky Steele, Marilyn Keiser, Russell Saunders and Warren Berryman. He was organist-director at Wesley’s Chapel, London, England, during the summer of 1985.
Dr. Goehring has been active in the area of higher education, having served colleges in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He has a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and his music preparation was at Geneva College and Westminster Choir College.
